Smart ways of working
Increasing the rate of digitalisation does not have to require new, expensive technology. What is required are smart working methods which make use of different types of digital information. This is what is meant by smart working methods.
Accelerating digitalisation at companies enables them to incorporate more technology in order to do their job, with information and communication handled in a smarter way. There are many technologies which can be utilised; QR codes and RFID tags are widely used in order to simplify the path towards relevant information which is required by the operator and installer. A QR code is a two dimensional code which is optically scanned. QR codes can be linked to a website or contain contact details. There are other smart working methods too. For example, the workplace can be designed so as to make it difficult to make errors. Data from the operator can also be measured in order to adapt information to the individual.
Basic concepts include smart meetings, smart maintenance and visual project management.
Smart meetings are adapted to the specific objective of the meeting.
Smart maintenance means the company deploys smart working methods. This could mean using QR codes to gain quick access to manuals or being able to communicate in a smart way.
Visual project management involves the use of technical devices such as Smartboards in order to easily save and communicate the status of a project or day-to-day management, for example.
